Dear “Kate” I am so sorry for your troubles. would have expected some empathy. You should not be treated in this way. I’m shocked that a midwife would involve themselves in your business. Please be aware that the vast majority of the country support your right to bodily autonomy. Take care of yourself, and I will be hoping for a positive out come for you. Dear Katie* I just wanted to say how sorry I was hear about what you are going through and how you have been treated. It’s only in recent years that I have come to understand the kinds of issues facing women in some of our institutions when they are at their most vulnerable. Women in these situations should be treated with care and compassion and not subjected to what I consider to be institutional abuse. I am so sorry, you deserve better than this. I can’t imagine how it was to have gone through all that and be treated like a criminal for nothing but exercising your autonomy and right over your own body . They made me feel like that too. Dear Katie, I want you to know that you have my full support during this time. The fact that you are being prosecuted under such an outdated and unjust law is deeply concerning and outright disgusting. Abortion is healthcare, and no one should be criminalised for making decisions about their own body!!! You are not alone in this fight; many people stand with you, advocating for the decriminalisation of abortion and the end of these archaic laws. Stay strong, and remember that your bravery and resilience are inspiring to many.
